HOW DO YOU CLEAN A DIRTY WAREHOUSE?

What is a warehouse sweeper?

Sweeping machines are large vacuum assisted brooms, designed for industrial sweeping applications. These Industrial Sweeping machines are constructed specifically to pick up all forms of debris, ranging from fine cement dust to larger pieces of rubbish.

Sweep Scrub are the market leader when it comes to industrial sweeping and industrial scrubbing of warehouse floors in industrial, factory and commercial facilities. Warehouse sweeping is a vital part of keeping contaminates to a minimum, preventing stock contamination.

No customer wants to receive contaminated stock, no-one wants to supply contaminated stock. This stock rejection could be avoided with regular warehouse floor cleaning services.

Why warehouse sweeping is important:

By ensuring your warehouse is clean of all dirt, dust and debris, you will be protecting the Occupational Health and Safety of all staff. This is how we developed OHSweep, to provide regular industrial sweeping services to maintain a clean work environment, which in turn creates better employee morale, increased productivity and increased efficiency. With regards to efficiency alone any build up of contaminants (think shrink wrap getting stuck around a forklift wheel) around machinery can interfere with the safe and efficient operation of this equipment.

What is best practice for warehouse cleaning?

When comparing cleaning methods and studying all the benefits of keeping a warehouse floor clean at all times, industrial floor sweeping and industrial floor scrubbing is without a doubt best practice.

Warehouse cleaning is an essential task to maintain a safe and organized work environment. Here are some best practices for warehouse cleaning:

  1. Develop a cleaning schedule: Create a regular cleaning schedule that outlines which areas of the warehouse need to be cleaned and when. This will ensure that cleaning tasks are completed on time and consistently.

  2. Use appropriate cleaning equipment: Use equipment that is suitable for the size and type of your warehouse, such as floor scrubbers, sweepers, and pressure washers. Sweep Scrub staff are experts on how to properly use and maintain the equipment.

  3. Use the right cleaning solutions: Choose cleaning solutions that are appropriate for the surfaces you are cleaning. Avoid using harsh chemicals that can damage surfaces or pose a risk to employees.

  4. Prioritize high-traffic areas: Focus on cleaning high-traffic areas. These areas are more likely to collect dirt and debris and can become a breeding ground for bacteria if not cleaned regularly.

By implementing these best practices, your warehouse cleaning will be efficient, effective, and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.

It must be said Sweep Scrub are not providing a new service, or reinventing the wheel. Sweep Scrub was first established in 1986. Not bad for only selling one product, that of clean floors. It’s the whole 10000 hours to become an expert concept, our staff can tell what is required to provide a clean floor. Clean floors come through fixed prices, not simply hourly rates.

How does it work?

As the industrial sweeper passes over the ground, the internal brush applies consistent pressure and rotation with suction. This action collects all debris and filters it within a fully enclosed system.

The Filtration system explained in 3 Stages.

  1. During the first stage of filtration, all debris is gathered into the internal Hopper. This is where larger pieces of rubbish, approximately 90% is separated from the smaller debris.

  2. The second Stage uses a cyclonic filtration method, much like a quality home vacuum. The cyclonic action removes another 90% of dirt from the smaller debris sifted from the hopper.

  3. The third and final stage, is where any fine remaining dust particles are processed through a Nano fibre cannister. The Nano fibre yields, an amazing submicron dust filtration result of .05 microns (near HEPA levels)

 What is a micron?

A micron is a measurement that is one-millionth of a meter. Invisible to the naked eye, our world is full of organisms and particles that are only tiny fractions of a cm.

Some examples of particles

  • Dust Mite Debris: 0.5 to 50 microns

  • Household Dust: .05 to 100 microns

  • Human Hair: 70 to 100 microns

  • Bacteria: .35 to 10 microns

  • Spores from plants: 6 to 100 microns

  • Mould: 20 to 200 microns

  • Covid-19 particle is approximately 0.1 microns.
